IMAGINE yourself doing, seeing, hearing, and eating the same things everyday. Everything is customary and predictable. There is nothing to discover and look forward to.

Cheer up! Life is not meant to be lived that way. You have a choice. Allow these tips to help perk up your mood, to stimulate your senses and your brain.

Learn new skills and always acquire a new information. They are fun and useful. They also help delay or prevent dementia, the most common of which is Alzheimer’s. (That is, in addition to a good diet, regular physical activity, having strong social ties, maintaining a good blood pressure, etc.).

May people complain that life is boring. It’s because they have fixed their eyes on the usual and the familiar. Why settle when there are so many things to experience and look forward to? Try a new dish, a different brand, a new scent. Look for new travel destinations. Even books and movies will add fun, excitement, and something of value to your life – if you will allow them.

Do something different – or do something in a different manner. Note its effect on your body and mind. Try different patterns when watering your plants and turning on the lights. Rearrange your clothes and books. Do something to adjust your schedule so that there will be less pressure on your part.

“Never reason the reason behind trying something reasonable. It’s the new things that bring excitement and becomes a reason for many people to fight the low phase.” – Shahenshah Hafeez Khan
