President Duterte has been out of sight in recent days since he is busy with paperwork, MalacaƱang said yesterday.

Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo explained that the President has been working in Davao City, reading and signing documents in the past week.

“He has plenty of work. There are so many paper work, there are so many papers to sign, marami siyang binabasa. Nasa bahay lang siya,” Panelo said.

The President has not been seen in public since he graced the opening ceremony of the Palarong Pambansa in Davao City last Sunday.
Prior to the gaming event, Duterte returned to the country from a four-day visit to Beijing, China early Sunday morning.

Duterte attended the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and met with the Chinese business community during his Beijing trip.

Duterte, accompanied by his common law wife Honeylet AvanceƱa and daughter Veronica, took a private plane for the Beijing trip instead of his usual chartered commercial jetliner. (Genalyn Kabiling)
