The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed Thursday an inciting to sedition complaint against a man in connection with his alleged involvement in the circulation of the “Bikoy” videos.

The NBI brought Rodel Jayme for inquest before the Department of Justice (DoJ) for inciting to sedition in violation of Article 142 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to  Section 8 of Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

The complaint was filed after the NBI’s Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD), armed with a search warrant, seized from his Paranaque City house last April 30 his computer and mobile phone which were subjected to forensic examination.

The operation was part of an ongoing investigation directed by Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra to find out who are behind the Bikoy videos.

Last month, series of videos titled “Ang Totoong Narcolist” were posted on Youtube featuring Bikoy who claimed to be a former member of a drug syndicate.

Bikoy alleged in the videos that the family of President Duterte and his former aide, senatorial bet Christopher “Bong” Go, are involved in the illegal drugs trade.

Jayme is the administrator of metrobalita.net where links to the videos are also found.

The NBI added it also acted on the complaint of Teresa Ranola who said her name was mentioned in one of the videos as a member of the Quadrangle Group who is also involved in the narcotics trade.

In his referral letter, NBI Director Dante Gierran said the computer and mobile phone were subjected to forensic examination which found Facebook conversations with Maru Nguyen and Maru Xie who are believed to be just one person.

“Based on the retrieved conversations, there is continuity of their efforts to conduct their scurrilous libelous attacks against the Government,” said Gierran.

“The conversation so revealed that these attacks are planned and with the backing from certain personalities,” he added.

Among the conversations, Gierran said Nguyen “admitted posting the Bikoy videos on the website ‘metrobalita.net’.”

Nguyen also told Jayme during their conversation that Duterte is now being investigated by the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Nguyen said that members of the Magdalo wanted to talk to Jayme.

“In addition, Jayme and his cohorts did not just ‘share’/’like’ the videos. Instead, the posting is a concerted effort,” Gierran said. (Jeffrey Damicog)
