Estrada, running mate continue to dominate in Manila polls

INCUMBENT Manila City Mayor Joseph Estrada and running-mate former representative Amado Bagatsing continue to dominate their respective opponents and are likely to win in the midterm elections in May, a survey said.
Based on the latest survey by Laylo Research Strategies from April 4-10, it showed Estrda on top with a satisfaction rate of 39 percent against his closest rival, former Manila Vice Mayor Isko “Moreno” Domagoso who garnered 30 percent, while former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim was third with 22 percent.
The survey also listed who among the local officials were the most trusted with Estrada getting a 50 percent trust rating, former Manila Mayor Lim, 48 percent; and Moreno 29 percent. The rest were undecided.
Bagatsing also dominated the vice mayoralty race based on a survey by iPoll Inc. From April 10 to 15, and participated in by 1,200 Manila residents, who were asked, “Sino ang iboboto mo sa (Who will you vote in the) May 13 Election?”I
In this survey, 49-percent of the respondents said they wanted Bagatsing to be the next Manila vice mayor.
He also dominated the survey in all the six districts of Manila, getting 45 percent in the 1st district, 42 percent in the 2nd district, 48 percent in the 3rd district, 47 percent in the 4th district, 58 percent in the 5th district, and 54 percent in the 6th district.
Estrada also topped the same survey with 46.3 percent, while Moreno got 31 percent, Lim, 9.6 percent; and 13.1 percent undecided. WILLIAM B. DEPASUPIL
