Cignal-Ateneo secured the first quarterfinals berth in the Aspirants Group after clobbering Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College, 90-46, in the PBA D-League yesterday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Tyler Tio produced 19 points while four others also scored in double figures as the Blue Eagles improved to a 7-1 record which enabled them to book a place in the quarters of the 20-team competition.
Matt Nieto had 16 points, Will Navarro tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds and Mike Nieto turned in 10 points and four rebounds.

Earlier, City of Valencia-San Sebastian crushed University of Perpetual Help, 106-75, to gain a share of second place in the Foundation Group.
RK Ilagan scored 27 points spiked by four triples while adding seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals for the Stags.
“So far, nakita naman na masyado na matured si RK. Hindi na siya katulad dati na offense lang. Now he’s organizing the team,” said coach Egay Macaraya.
