Duterte, ‘not feeling well’, skips Manila Boao Forum

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Monday skipped his scheduled appearance at the opening of the Boao Forum for Asia because he was “not feeling well,” his spokesman said.
“He is not feeling well because of his punishing schedule plus his campaign sorties,” Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo said in a text message, when asked about Duterte’s absence from the event.
The Palace official also said the President was “overworked.”
Duterte was scheduled to deliver the keynote address for the two-day forum, which the country is hosting for the first time, at the Shangri-La at the Fort, Bonifacio Global City.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea represented Duterte in the event.
Panelo said the President was “in his Davao residence” when a 6.1-magnitude earthquake rocked Metro Manila and parts of Luzon Monday afternoon. CATHERINE S. VALENTE
