Palace confirms Times’ story on ‘Oust-Duterte’ matrix, warns plotters

MALACAÑANG on Monday confirmed a matrix detailing a plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte and vowed to prosecute those who would commit “overt acts to bring down the government.”
Spokesman Salvador Panelo said the public “has a right to know” about the “Oust-Duterte plot,” which the Palace was scheduled to release in the press briefing on Monday had not The Manila Times published it first.
The matrix, provided to the Times over the weekend by a source, linked media organizations and journalists to “coordinated” efforts to discredit Duterte and his administration.
The media groups tagged as plotters were Vera Files, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism and Rappler.
The National Union of People’s Lawyers was also included in the matrix.
