San Juan guns for MPBL title

San Juan City goes for the crown in the 2019 Maharlika Pilpinas Basketball League Datu Cup when it faces Davao Occidental today at The Arena in San Juan City.
Game 4 of their best-of-five National Finals is at 7 p.m. with the Knights hoping to secure the title on homecourt.
San Juan gained the crucial 2-1 advantage after prevailing 67-62 in Game 3 last April 16 also at The Arena behind the efforts of Ryan Ayon Ayon, John Wilson and Jhonard Clarito.
The trio took charge of the Knights’ offense by combining for 39 points.
The Knights will continue to lean on their offense that will also be anchored on former pro Mac Cardona, while Clarito will continue to remain a threat in the paint after collaring 18 rebounds the last time.
But Davao Occidental’s shooters are also set to sizzle with its own triumvirate in Bogs Raymundo, Bonbon Custodio and Joseph Terso, who also merged for 39 points in Game 3. (Kristel Satumbaga)
