Strong chlorine solution in resort pool downs 14 in Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines — Fourteen persons were hospitalized after “inhalation of strong solution of Chlorine” in a resort in Pandi, Bulacan on Good Friday.
Pandi police chief Major Avelino Protacio said the incident that mostly affected minors swimming in the pool happened at around 7 a.m. but the resort management did not immediately report it to authorities.
Ten of the victims were already released from the hospital, as of this posting, but the four others remained for further treatment, Protacio told INQUIRER.net in a text message.
Initial investigation showed there was excessive amount of chlorine poured into the pool that led to the incident, according to Protacio. /kga
