CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) has expelled one of its coordinators in Central Luzon over alleged corruption, VACC president Arsenio “Boy” Evangelista announced on Tuesday.
He said the expulsion of Pyra Lucas was formalized through a resolution approved by the board on April 4.
The Inquirer tried to reach Lucas for comments but has yet to get a reply.
The resolution, certified by VACC secretary Manjinder Kumar, stated that Lucas was “prohibited, banned and barred from representing herself as member and regional coordinator of the organization from using and invoking VACC in any and all her activities or endeavors, and from acting and representing in behalf of the organization, its officers and members.”
Evangelista said Lucas had been given a copy.
VACC, he said, acted on the complaint of a couple whose son has a pending rape case in the Department of Justice.
Lucas allegedly asked for P2.2 million to facilitate the review.
At least P1.2 million was reportedly received by her on three dates in 2017.
Evangelista said he was also checking reports that Lucas had used a unit of the National Bureau of Investigation in an illegal quarrying activity.
