Pacio KOs Saruta to reclaim ONE strawweight world title

JOSHUA “The Passion” Pacio reclaimed the ONE strawweight world title by finishing Japanese Yosuke “The Ninja” Saruta via knockout on Friday in the co-main event of ONE: Roots of Honor at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The 23-year old Pacio landed a perfect hard right knee to the head that dropped Saruta to the canvass head first for a knockout victory at the 2:43 minute mark of the fourth round.
Pacio impoved his record to 14 wins and three losses while Saruta dropped to 19-9.
The Team Lakay bet lost his belt in a split decision during their first encounter last January in Indonesia.
Pacio’s stablemate Edward Kelly scored a technical knockout against South Korean Sung Jong Lee in the second round of their featherweight contest in the undercard.
In the main event, reigning ONE featherweight champion Martin Nguyen retained his title after defeating Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia by knockout in the second round. JEAN RUSSEL V. DAVID
