New record for hottest temperature set in Isabela at 39.7C

A new record for the highest temperature in the country for the year was at 39.7 degrees Celcius in Echague, Isabela on Wednesday, the state bureau said.
The previous record was 37.8 C in Cotabato City on March 26, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The highest heat index or the level of human discomfort was at 51.7C in Dagupan City, Pangasinan on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, actual observed heat index was highest at 45.9C in San Jose City, Occidental Mindoro.
Pagasa advised people against outdoor activities from 12 noon to 4 p.m. When going outside, Pagasa advised people and to wear sun protection and light colored clothes and to drink lots of water. DIVINA D. DELA CRUZ
