Amnesty for tax delinquents effective on April 24

AMNESTY for delinquent taxpayers will be implemented on April 24 following the publication of implementing rules and regulations (IRR) on Tuesday by the Department of Finance (DoF).
Signed by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez 3rd and Internal Revenue Commissioner Caesar Dulay on April 5, provisions under the Revenue Regulations 4-2019 of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) shall take effect after 15 days from the date of its publication in a newspaper of general circulation or on April 24.
The Finance department has said that through the tax amnesty, the government could collect a portion of an estimated P80 billion in unpaid delinquency taxes to the BIR.
The amnesty on delinquency taxes was among the provisions retained by President Rodrigo Duterte on the partially vetoed Republic Act (RA) 11213 or the Tax Amnesty law. MAYVELIN U. CARABALLO
