The Bureau of Internal Revenue has advised business and individual taxpayers to file their 2018 Income Tax Return on or before April 15 to avoid paying penalties.

BIR Deputy Commissioner for Operations Arnel Guballa said filing of ITR after the deadline is subject to 25 percent surcharge on the amount due, 12 percent delinquency interest, and the graduated compromise penalties.

He said an individual with two or more employers and receiving purely compensation income may download the new BIR Form No. 1700 at the BIR website (www.bir.gov.ph) and manually file it at the revenue district office where he is registered.

Single proprietors, professionals, mixed income earner, estates, and trusts shall download the offline eBIRForms Package v7.4.1 to fill up the new BIR Form Nos. 1701 and 1701A.

Lastly, corporations, partnership, and other non-individual taxpayers should use the electronic filing and payment system, or the offline eBIRForms Packagev7.4.1 using the existing or old BIR Form Nos. 1702-RT, 1702-EX, or 1702-MX.

However, eFPS mixed income earners availing of the optional standard deduction must use the new return and file manually.

Payment of taxes may be done manually through the authorized agent banks  or with the revenue collection officers of the revenue district office where there are no AABs.

Online payment can be made via GCash, LBP LinBiz ATM/debit cards, and DBP tax online credit/ATM/debit cards.

E-lounges are also available in all district offices nationwide assisting online taxpayers filing their returns. (Jun Ramirez)
