The P773-million Lullutan Bridge at Ilagan City in Isabela province was inaugurated to boost agricultural productivity and economic activity in the province.
The 500.6-meter bridge, one of the longest in Cagayan Valley region, was repaired after it was destroyed by Typhoon “Rosing” (international name: Angela) in 1995.
The 14-span steel structure, which has a loading capacity of 20 tons, connects Barangays Camalagui 1st and Lullutan.
The bridge was projected to shorten travel time to only five minutes from almost two hours.
Farmers had to travel via barges before the completion of the project, which was built for four years.
