Neither admitting paternity, twins ordered by judge to pay child support

A judge in the state of Goias in Brazil ordered a pair of identical twin brothers to pay child support, after neither of them admitted to the paternity of a baby girl.
The twins, identified with their aliases Fernando and Fabricio, blamed each other over the issue, local Brazilian media Globo via The Sun reported.
The report further stated that a DNA test was inconclusive because of the twins’ genetical similarities.
Since both did not admit who the baby’s father is, judge Filipe Luis Peruca handed down the decision that both are required to pay maintenance of 230 reais (around P3,108) monthly.
Peruca also ordered that both brothers be cited as the father in the baby’s birth certificate.
The infant’s mother said that she met the father during a mutual friend’s party. “He told me he had a twin brother, but I did not get introduced,” the unidentified woman said. “At the time I did not suspect anything.”
“It was clear they each used the other’s name, either to attract as many women as possible, or to hide betrayal in their relationship,” the judge said about the brothers. Katrina Hallare /ra
