HEADLINE inflation slowed to a 15-month low of 3.3 percent in March, the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA) announced on Friday.
The figure — down from the previous month’s 3.8 percent and the lowest since December 2017’s 2.9 percent — fell within the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) 3.1-3.9 percent forecast.
The result was better than the 3.5 percent average forecast in a Manila Times poll of economists.
Year-to-date, inflation settled within the central bank’s 2-4 percent target at 3.8 percent.
