A rookie police officer was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation in Quezon City on Tuesday night.
Police officers of the Talipapa Police Station 3 arrested Patrolman Darryl Galendez, alias Dary Pulis, 25, in a buy-bust sting in Barangay Pasong Tamo at 10:30 p.m. along with his father Daniel Galendez, 50, and aunt Estella Alfonso. Another suspect only identified as “Alias Balawis” was able to escape during the operations.
Talipapa Police Station Chief Alex Alberto said that the operations were conducted after six months of surveillance on Galendez and his father.
“Ito pong trabaho nating ito ay trinabaho natin ng maayos, matagal nating sinubaybayan, ni-case build-up namin. Nahirapan kami dito dahil matagal na naming naririnig ito (We worked on the surveillance for a long time to build the case. It was challenging because we have learned about this for quite a while),” Alberto said.
The suspects were arrested after a poseur buyer successfully bought P200 worth of shabu. The police recovered seven sachets, an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol loaded with seven live ammunition, four cellular phones and the buy-bust money.
