MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday warned netizens against posting information on their summer trips and schedules on social media, which may be used by lawless elements as leads when breaking into residences.
Bernard Banac said in a press conference on the summer security plans of the PNP.
(We remind netizens that if possible, for their security, they should not immediately post information on social media that they are leaving for a vacation and where they are headed.)
Banac advised netizens to only share information on their trips in private messages or only post on social media once they are back home.
(But if this will be seen by everyone, we advise the public to not post at all or minimize posting in social media for your security, because some may try to steal from or break into your houses.) / gsg
