Ex-police chief shot dead in Isabela

A former police chief in Isabela was killed by four armed men Monday while about to enter his parked vehicle at the WML Cockpit Arena in Barangay Tuguegarao, Echague, Isabela.
Police Major Andy Orilla, chief of police of Echague, identified the victim as Danny Alingog, a resident of Barangay Fugaru, Angadanan, Isabela.
Orilla had just came out of the cockpit arena around 4:35 p.m. when the suspects emerged and opened fire.
Probers said suspects immediately fled toward Barangay Sto. Domingo, Echague, Isabela.
Meanwhile, Police Col. Mariano Rodriguez has ordered Orilla to conduct a massive manhunt for perpetrators.
“Nananawagan kami sa mga nakakita na lumantad at magbigay ng pahayag para mabigyan ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ni Alingog,” Orilla said.
Orilla said there were some witnesses who were afraid to help in the investigation. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
