Duke’s Reddish misses 1st half of Sweet 16 game
WASHINGTON — Duke freshman Cam Reddish missed the first half of the Blue Devils’ Sweet 16 matchup with Virginia Tech on Friday night, dealing with an apparent knee injury.
Reddish, Duke’s most prolific three-pointer shooter, was in uniform but replaced in the lineup by sophomore guard Alex O’Connell.
Virginia Tech took a 38-34 lead into halftime.
Coach Mike Krzyzewski did not mention the injury during Thursday’s media sessions, and Reddish did practice. However, he did not go through warm-ups on Friday.
Krzyzewski did suggest reserve Jack White was unlikely to play, but he was the first Blue Devil off the bench Friday.
Reddish is a projected lottery pick and entered the game averaging 13.6 points and 3.7 rebounds.
