The easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean will affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, bringing cloudy skies and rain showers, over the weekend, the State weather bureau said yesterday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to easterlies.

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Central Visayas, Palawan, Aurora, and Quezon.

PAGASA advised residents in these areas, as well as in Mindanao, to be alert for possible flash floods during severe thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy skies will be felt over the rest of Visayas, Bicol region, Region 4-B, and Region 4-A also because of easterlies.

Partly cloudy skies will also prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said no tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country until the end of the month.

PAGASA said coastal waters on the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to occasionally rough with a wave height of 1.2 to 2.5 meters. (Alexandria San Juan)
