Acting GenSan city police chief assumes office

KORONADAL CITY – An acting city police chief has been named to take over the post of Police Colonel Raul Supiter, who was relieved for alleged involvement in the Police Paluwagan Movement (PPM), which authorities believe was a money scam.
Lt. Col. Aldrin Gonzales, speaking for the police in the Soccsksargen region, told the Inquirer that Police Colonel Oliver Enmodias, currently PRO-12 deputy director for operations, was designated to replace Supiter until a new city police major general is named.
Enmodias assumed his new post on Tuesday, March 26.
Aside from his job as deputy director for operations, Enmodias was the head of the recruitment and selection division of PRO-12 Directorate for Personnel Records and Management (DPRM).
He headed the two joint task forces that probed the twin bombings in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat last year and the December 31 bombing in front of a mall in Cotabato City.
Gonzales said the marching orders for Enmodias as acting city director is to ensure that law and order will prevail in Gen. Santos City until a new city police director is named.
Supiter and Police Colonel Manuel Lukban Jr., PRO-12 head of directorial staff, were relieved from their post when the alleged money scam went viral on social media.
The two had denied knowledge of and involvement in the operation of the PPM, and both had expressed willingness to submit themselves for investigation.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has ordered an impartial probe on the operation of the P2-billion PPM and the men and women behind it.
The PPM, headed by a certain Sheila Agustin, offers a 60 percent interest every 15 days to anyone who would invest in the scheme. /ee
