MANILA, Philippines — A woman is set to spend more of her time in jail after authorities served another arrest warrant against her while in detention at the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) headquarters in Taguig.

A new arrest warrant has been served recently to 30-year-old Luisel Marie Estaris in relation to a carnapping incident in Pangasinan. Estaris is currently detained at NCRPO’s Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU) detention facility as she was also arrested in January for a separate robbery and extortion case.

According to NCRPO Director Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, more cases are expected to be filed against Estaris, who is allegedly a member of “Loan, Assumed, Tangay, Benta Modus Syndicate.”

“Marami pang naka-pending na nagfi-file ng kaso sa kanya. Kaya ngayon, habang nakakulong siya may nilabas na bagong warrant for a different case na si-nerve natin sa kanya (There are more cases being filed against her. So now, while she’s detained there’s a new warrant for a different case which we served to her),” Eleazar told INQUIRER.net.

The new warrant of arrest stemmed from a complaint of former overseas Filipino worker Gary Villaflor, who said that in May 2018 he posted an advertisement on Estaris’ Facebook page — “Assume Balance, Pasalo Cars Philippine and Assume Balance, Pasalo Cars Pilipinas” — in a bid to have his vehicle leased.

Estaris then rented Villaflor’s vehicle and agreed to meet with him in a mall in Clark, Pampanga for the payment.

Estaris, however, failed to return the vehicle on their agreed date which prompted Villaflor to report the incident to authorities.

“Marami kasi siyang naloko. Ang style nila, nilo-loan [mula sa biktima], ia-assume, itatangay, tapos ibebenta (The suspect has duped a lot of people. Their style is loan the vehicle from the victim, assume, runaway with the vehicle and then sell it),” Eleazar said.

“Marami sila eh, parang sindikato. Lumalabas [sa imbestigasyon] na sindikato ‘yung grupo at siya [Estaris] ‘yung ginagamit sa pagkausap sa mga tao para makuha ‘yung sasakyan na eventually pinapasa niya rin sa iba para maibenta (They are like a syndicate. Investigation shows they are a syndicate and Estaris is being used to talk to prospective victims to get the vehicle which would eventually be passed on to another person to sell it),” Eleazar said. /kga
