CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – A 13-year-old boy was arrested Sunday by police in a drug buy-bust operation in Cavite City, the Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported.
The local police drug enforcement unit (DEU) team nabbed the boy after he handed a small sachet containing shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride or “crystal meth) to a poseur-buyer in exchange for P200 cash.
The identity of the suspect was withheld for he is a minor.
The suspect is deemed as the youngest in the province who was caught by police red-handed selling shabu.
The buy-bust operation was conducted after an informant tipped off his drug pushing activities.
The Cavite City police said that a drug charge in relation to Republic Act 9165 Article II Section V will be filed against the suspect at the city prosecutor’s office.
The boy was turned over to the Cavite City Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) where he would stay for the meantime.
Police officers believed that drug syndicates have been utilizing minors to sell drugs these days. There were other minors who were arrested by police in drug operations in Cavite province’s lowland and upland cities and municipalities, PPO records showed.
