MANILA, Philippines — This year’s water conference invited 500 exhibiting companies from international and Asian countries to offer solutions to water supply, sanitation and purification.
Companies from China, European Union, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Netherlands and the United States featured their innovations which aim to encourage the government and private sectors to study new methods in addressing water and energy problems in the Philippines.
Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) said the Water Philippines 2019 Conference is a very timely event as it may help solve the water crisis in the country.
“This conference is very timely; it will address yung concern ngayon, especially yung climate change. Very erratic ngayon ang ating climate,” Vicente Joyas, president of PWWA said at the sidelines of the conference in Pasay City.
Joyas was referring to the water service interruptions being experienced by Manila Water customers due to the low water level in La Mesa Dam.
