Ateneo takes top spot after sweep of UP at UAAP 81 women’s volleyball

ATENEO de Manila University soared atop the team standings after a straight sets win against the University of the Philippines, 25-21, 25-15, 28- 26, in the “Battle of Katipunan” at the women’s volleyball tournament of UAAP 81 on Sunday.
After dropping their opening game to archrival De La Salle University (DLSU), the Lady Eagles never looked back as they racked up four straight wins for a 5-1 win-loss record.
The Lady Maroons dropped to 4-2, in a tie with the three-time defending champion Lady Spikers, the Far Eastern University and the University of Santo Tomas.
