SEN. Panfilo Lacson announced that there were nine candidates for senator he would not vote for in the midterm elections in May.
Lacson has not named these candidates but instead dropped clues on his social media posts.
Below are the clues:
Candidate No. 1: “He trained his eyes on an unspent P1.6 billion calamity fund in an LGU where a family member is mayor. He asked the person in charge to procure blankets for P7,000 each. Actual market price is P700 per blanket.”
Candidate No. 2: “His campaign promises include the passage of a measure that the 17th Congress has legislated and signed into law by the President just recently. He’s [a] lazy idiot. Ayaw mag-Google (He does not want to use Google), and shoots from the hip.”
Candidate No. 3: “He has an acerbic tongue. When he dishes out his hate trait list, he has no clue he tops that list. He sounds entertaining sometimes but not electable at all.”
Candidate No. 4, “Face, smile, character, credentials, advocacy — all fake. This candidate is not deserving even of a fake vote.”
Candidate No. 5: “When she speaks during public debates and fora, she sounds like she’s aspiring to implement the law, not legislate. She’s lost and confused and she’s confusing and losing votes. She might as well run in 2022.”
Candidate No. 6: “His main campaign appeal is playing victim but in his heart, he knows he is the predator — having preyed on public funds. He is very good at both.”
Candidate No. 7: “Wherever the weather is fine, he’s there for sure. He is a certified ‘Averrhoa carambola a.k.a. ‘balimbing’ (political butterfly).”
Candidate No. 8: “This candidate thinks the Philippine Senate is Entertainment City. Somebody please tell him it’s a little father. Unless he stops entertaining, he might just end up being a stand up comedian after election.”
Candidate No. 9: “The more he talks, the more we learn about fake news. He needs to win badly so he doesn’t care if he talks fact or fake as long as there is media mileage. His worst nemesis: Google.”
Lacson has been on his guessing game since March 1 on the candidates “who won’t get my votes.”
He identified, however, seven re-electionist senators whom he would vote for: Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Paolo Benigo “Bam” Aquino, Maria Lourdes Nancy Binay, Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel, Grace Poe, and Cynthia Villar. BERNADETTE E. TAMAYO
