DIGOS CITY — A woman included in the drug watchlist of the Philippine National Police (PNP) yielded almost half million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during her arrest on Wednesday.
City police director Supt. Deozar Almasa said Thursday the suspect was identified as Nely Almendras Dulce, 41, a resident of Luna-Tandang Sora St. in Barangay Zone 3.
The search warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 19 and signed by Executive Judge Carmelita Sarno-Davin on March 5, 2019.
He said joint personnel of Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), the Provincial Drugs Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the search operation at the house of the suspect.
Almasa said the operation recovered some drug paraphernalia and more or less 30 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P450,000.
The suspect was immediately brought to the PDEA office.
Authorities are now preparing charges for violation of R. A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Anti-illegal Drugs Act of 2002. /ee
