AN ecstasy dealer was gunned down at past noon on Wednesday after attending a court hearing in Cebu, police said.

The fatality was identified as Neil Benjamin Yap, 34, of Barangay Quiot-Pardo, Cebu City.

Police said motorcycle-riding gunmen shot Yap in Barangay Barangay Guizo, Mandaue City.

Police Colonel Julian Entoma, director of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), said Yap was included in the 2018 drug matrix of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7).

Police said Yap came from the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 83, at the Mandaue City Hall of Justice and was driving his blue Hyundai Eon car (ABN 4011) along Highway Seno Street, when the gunmen on board a black Mio motorcycle fired at Yap’s car three times.

Yap sustained gunshot wounds on his head, face and neck and died on the spot.

Investigation is ongoing as of posting time. RHEA RUTH ROSELL
