President Duterte last night inaugurated the North Luzon Expressway Harbor Link Segment 10 on C3 Road in Caloocan City, describing it as heaven for reducing travel time from Valenzuela City to C3 Road.

A visibly impressed Duterte, who also graced the groundbreaking of the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road project last night, commended how travel time from Valenzuela City to C3 Road is cut to just a few minutes because of the project.

“It will reduce travel time from Valenzuela to C3 from the usual one hour to just five minutes, that’s heaven,” he said of the project which he called a milestone of the government’s ambitious “Build, Build, Build” program.

According to the President, his administration is committed to a 10-point socio-economic agenda that includes the acceleration of infrastructure projects and the development of various industries, leading to a stronger economy and improved lives of the people.

He also assured the timely implementation and completion of all government infrastructure projects and lauded the continued active participation of partners in the private sector in these endeavors.

“Now, more than ever, we are called on to demonstrate our “bayanihan” (community) spirit and strong sense of nationhood,” Duterte said. “Let us remain steadfast as we work together in forging a stronger and more progressive future for all Filipinos,” he added.

Duterte expressed hope that the remaining portions of the new elevated highway will be completed before his term ends.

“I am hopeful that the remaining portions of the NLEX Harbor Link Project will be completed within the next two years,” he said. “This will definitely improve access and mobility in the area and result in greater socio-economic gains for our industries and communities,” he added.

The P9-billion NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 is a six-lane elevated expressway that is nearly six kilometers long. It will connect McArthur Highway to C-3 Road in Caloocan and it will cut across Valenzuela and Malabon City.

This new highway is expected to decongest Metro Manila by providing access to NLEX without the need to pass through EDSA or the Balintawak Toll Plaza. It is also seen to benefit around 20,000 motorists per day, and serve as an alternate route for motorists and resolve truck ban problems. (Argyll Geducos)
