‘Wutip’ weakens into severe tropical storm, remains outside PH — Pagasa

“WUTIP” weakened into a severe tropical storm and remained outside the Philippine Area of responsibility (PAR), the state-run weather bureau said on Thursday.
Wutip was last spotted at 1,750 kilometers east of Central Luzon outside PAR, moving west-northwest at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour (kph) with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph and gustiness of up to 135 kph.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wutip, which would be named locally as “Betty,” was expected to weaken further as it neared PAR.
At the moment, Wutip poses no direct threat to any part of the country, Pagasa said. DIVINA NOVA JOY DELA CRUZ
