MANILA, Philippines – Supporters of senatorial bets endorsed by pro-administration Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) arrived early at the campaign sortie along Garden of Memory Road in Pateros, Metro Manila, on Thursday.
HNP, regional party of presidential daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, is endorsing 13 senatorial candidates namely re-electionist Senators Cynthia Villar, Aquilino Pimentel III, JV Ejercito and Juan Edgardo Angara; former Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla and Pia Cayetano; Maguindanao Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, former national police chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, former presidential legal adviser Francis Tolentino and former journalist Jiggy Manicad.
Several posters and banners bearing faces of HNP’s senatorial aspirants were put up in the venue.
About 70 police officers were also stationed around the venue to ensure security during the campaign. /cbb
