THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Sunday reiterated its reminder to registered foreigners that they only have until Friday, March 1, to report to any immigration office.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, in a statement, reiterated that the annual reporting period would not be extended, as he warned that non-compliant foreign nationals may be fined for violating the alien registration law.
The 1951 Alien Registration Act mandates all holders of immigrant and non-immigrant visas to file their annual report within the first 60 days of the year.
The BI said that the foreigners could report to any of the bureau’s field, satellite and extension offices nationwide, the list of which can be accessed via the BI’s official website www.immigration.gov.ph.
Application forms, guidelines and information on the 2019 annual report filing can be downloaded from the site, the BI added.
As for registered foreigners aged 14 years old and below, their reports must be filed by either their parent or guardian.
The government requires each foreigner to bring and present his or her alien certificate of registration identity card (ACR I-Card) and pay P300 in annual report fees and P10 in legal research fees, Lawyer Jose Carlitos Licas, BI Alien Registration Division chief said.
“For those who are currently abroad, they shall make the report within 30 days from the date of their return to the country, provided they have valid re-entry permits,” Licas said. CATHERINE A. MODESTO
