Fire hits residential area in Mandaluyong City

MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at a residential area in Mandaluyong City on Friday afternoon, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
Fire Officer I Christine Pascual said the fire started at 4:20 p.m. at Block 22 extension, Brgy. Addition Hills in Mandaluyong.
The blaze reached fifth alarm at 5:23 p.m., the BFP said.
Around 18 firetrucks from different fire districts including Quezon City, Makati City, Manila City, and San Juan City have responded to battle the blaze.

As of posting, firefighters were still trying to put out the fire.
The BFP has yet to start investigating the cause of the fire and the amount of damage incurred.
