Flags flying at half-mast on Sunday to mourn passing of National Artist Bobby Mañosa

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has ordered the Philippine flag to be flown at half-mast across the country on Sunday to mourn the passing of National Artist for Architecture Francisco “Bobby” Mañosa.
Mañosa passed away Wednesday at age 88.

“In connection with the demise of National Artist for Architecture Francisco “Bobby” Mañosa, and pursuant to Republic Act No. 8491, the Office of the President has ordered the National Flag to be flown at half-mast, as a sign of mourning, in all places where it is displayed in the country and in Philippine embassies abroad on February 24, Sunday, the day of the late National Artist Mañosa’s interment,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement Friday.
Earlier, Malacañang offered its condolences to the bereaved family of Mañosa, who was conferred the Order of National Artist in the field of Architecture by President Rodrigo Duterte last year.
“Architect Mañosa will be missed but his influence and legacy will continue to live on,” Panelo said.
“May the perpetual light shine upon him as we pray for the repose of his soul,” he added. /ee
