Alisson Krystle Perticheto put on courageous showing and produced a new personal best score of 51.66 in the recent 2019 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Anaheim, California.

The country’s lone representative in the annual tournament wound up 16th out of 22 skaters from America, Asian, Africa and Oceania.

“To compete to such an event like this, you need to get a minimal number of points to be allowed to represent the country. I did that earlier this season. So I feel very happy that I got the chance to represent the Philippines here in California,” said Perticheto in an exclusive interview with Manila Bulletin Sports Online.

Perticheto added that he could have posted better scores if not for some errors on her end.

Alisson and her coach plan to work on those mistakes and other parts of her routine to be more competitive in future tournaments, including the coming SEA Games which the country is going tom host late this year.

“After seeing more in detail the protocols of my programs, my coach (Roberto Moschella) and I will work more on improving the skating skills and transitions. I will also work on getting all my jumps and levels more consistent,” Perticheto said.

“I’m very excited for SEA Games 2019. I feel it’s going to be a very special event for me because it will be in the Philippines which is like skating at “home” for me! I will have the same mindset as every other competition. I think the most important to me is to not overthink, enjoy the moment and do my job,” said Perticheto.

She added that she was amazed at the large throng of followers keeping track of her in the annual figure skating event.
