9 dead in Pasay fire

NINE persons died in a fire that hit a house in Pasay City early Thursday, authorities said.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said remains of victims who belonged to two families were found inside the house on Almazor Street in Maricaban.

Four of the fatalities were identified as Michael Calma and sons John Clark, Mark Joseph, and Andrew James. Calma’s wife, Jasmine, survived.

The five other victims have not been identified.

The BFP said the fire started at 2:10 a.m. and was raised to first alarm seven minutes later. It was declared out at 3:14 a.m.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire that damaged property estimated at P50,000.
