San Miguel Alab Pilipinas stayed unscathed at home after dousing the Saigon Heat with a 111-87 romp in Season 9 Asean Basketball League (ABL) on Sunday night at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
The defending champion leaned on the triumvirate of Ray Parks Jr., PJ Ramos and Renaldo Balkman to remain unbeaten in ten home games.
Alab Pilipinas also improved its league-best record to 12 wins against two losses.
After missing three games due to injury, back-to-back Local MVP Parks returned with a bang as he fired 23 points on top of seven assists, two rebounds and a steal in almost 30 minutes of play.
The 7-foot-4 Ramos came through with a monster double-double anew, drilling in 30 points and 18 rebounds while fellow Puerto Rican cager Balkman sizzled with 29 markers, seven boards and five assists.
Alab lorded over the paint, scoring 70 points in that area against Saigon’s measly 10 markers. The Jimmy Alapag-mentored squad also dominated in rebounds (53-37) and assists (28-16).
Chris Dierker paced the Heat with 20 points while Murphy Burtanowski had 19 markers and Trevon Hughes had 16.
Saigon skidded to No. 4 with its third straight setback and an overall 10-7 record.
