Fire hits subdivision in Cainta

A fire of still undetermined origin struck Gruar Subdivision in Barangay Santo Domingo in Cainta, Rizal on Sunday, at 5:22 p.m., SFO4 Mario Paredes of the Rizal Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) told INQUIRER.net.
Paredes said 10 firetrucks had been deployed to respond to the blaze.
The fifth alarm was raised by 6:08 p.m., according to a tweet by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Task Force Alpha was raised by 6:33 p.m., according to a tweet by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
The PRC headquarters in Mandaluyong had dispatched a firetruck to the area and the PRC Rizal-Antipolo had dispatched an ambulance.
Sen. Richard Gordon, who is also PRC chairman, tweeted that medics had been dispatched to the site.
The fire was declared under control at around 9:01 p.m.
As of this posting, firefighters are still trying to put out the blaze. /atm
