MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo Lacson advised anti-drug agents to focus on big-time drug suspects and let the police handle the small-time ones.
In a tweet on Sunday, Lacson urged the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to “leave the street pushers in slippers and shorts” to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“[P1 billion] worth of drugs? Way to go PDEA. Get the big ones. Leave the street pushers in slippers and shorts to the PNP,” he wrote.

His statement came after anti-drug operatives and local police forces seized P1.9 billion worth of suspected shabu from two Chinese nationals, who were killed during the buy-bust operation.

Lacson, who served as PNP chief from 1999 to 2001, earlier advised the two agencies to go after those supplying the illegal drugs to the Philippines on a big scale instead of focusing on street pushers. /atm
