The Quezon City Council on Thursday raised from P3 million to P5 million the cash reward for any information that would resolve the killing of Barangay Bagong Silangan chairwoman and Quezon City congressional bet Crisell Beltran and her driver Wednesday.
Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte announced in an emergency council session at the Quezon City Hall that they have decided to increase the bounty to help in the immediate resolution of the case.
“Para mas mapabilis ang pag-resolba sa krimen. Kapag mas mataas ang pabuya, ang witnesses, ang may kaalaman, mas maaring lumapit at hindi matakot. Lahat ng information mabilis na mabibigay,” Belmonte explained.
“The higher the pot the better,” she added.
According to Belmonte, the cash reward will be gathered from any government funds available.
Meanwhile, the Quezon City Police District released Thursday a facial composite illustration of one of Beltran’s assailants.
QCPD director, Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr., said the suspect was one of the active shooters according to a witness.
The gunman apparently took off his helmet to reload his gun before shooting Beltran again. He was described to be in his 40s, between 5’4” to 5’5” tall, slim build, fair complexioned, black hair, and wore long sleeves, black jacket, and long pants.
Police investigators are reviewing other closed circuit television recordings that will help in establishing the identities of the suspects. (Alexandria Dennise San Juan)
