President Duterte on Tuesday graced the premiere night of former Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” M. dela Rosa’s biopic at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
Dela Rosa said Duterte enjoyed the film and congratulated him for a beautiful movie. “Sabi lang niya, ‘Congratulations.’ Ganda raw movie,” Dela Rosa said.
According to the former top cop, Duterte was pleased about how actor Efren Reyes portrayed him when he was still mayor of Davao City. “Tumawa siya. Nagulat siya na kamukha niya yung nagpo-portray sa kanya,” he said.
Senators Koko Pimentel and Manny Pacquiao and Robin Padilla, a known supporter of the President and played the role of Dela Rosa in the biopic, were also present during the premiere night.
According to Dela Rosa, Duterte also liked how Padilla played the role and was amused about how accurate the portrayal was.
Dela Rosa was appointed by Duterte as PNP chief in 2016. After his retirement from the service, the President tasked him to head the Bureau of Corrections.
Dela Rosa resigned from his position to run for senator in the May 2019 polls. He expressed optimism that the movie will boost his chances in winning in the elections. (Argyll Geducos)
