In a statement published on the Kremlin website, Putin on Sunday said, “A crime committed against civilians who gathered for a church service is shocking by its cynicism and cruelty.”

Japanese Ambassador to Manila Koji Haneda on Tuesday said, “Such terrorist attack shall never be tolerated. Japan firmly condemns this terrorist act in the strongest terms.”

He said Japan stood with the Philippine government and the Filipino people “in overcoming this difficulty.”

“Japan will continue to support the Philippines in achieving sustainable peace and stability in Mindanao in accordance with the ongoing political transition process under the Bangsamoro Organic Law,” he said.
