Duterte reappoints sacked Labor exec

President Duterte has reappointed sacked Labor Undersecretary Joel Maglunsod to another office under the Department of Labor and Employment, official Palace documents showed.
Based on official papers sent by Malacañang, Maglunsod is now Executive Director III at the National Maritime Polytechnic of the DoLE. His appointment paper was signed by the President last Friday.
Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said he would ask Duterte why he reappointed Maglunsod back to the government.
Maglunsod, one of the Left-leaning personalities appointed by Duterte, was sacked by the President in October last year. He announced the sacking during his visit to Camp Juan Ponce Sumuroy, in Catarman, Samar.
“Iyong Undersecretary ng Labor… Joel Maglunsod pinaalis ko,” Duterte said.
He also said that he may order the arrest of Left-leaning groups which “paralyze” the country’s economy.
“Kasi kung mag-strike sila nang mag-strike, sabihin mo sa kanila strike sila nang strike, they will paralyze the economy. ‘Pag wala ng pera ang mga trabahante tapos magkagulo, mapipilitan ako,” he said.
“Huhulihin ko lahat ‘yang Mayo Uno at si Joel Maglunsod,” he added. (Argyll Geducos)
