DILG: 86% of LGUs nationwide pass good financial housekeeping standards

MANILA, Philippines — Eighty-six percent of local government units (LGUs) in the Philippines have passed the good financial housekeeping (GFH) standards – which recognizes financial transparency – the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said.
An official list released by the DILG’s Bureau of Local Government Supervision showed that 1,470 LGUs have complied with the GFH standards.

Of the number, 57 are from the Cordillera Administrative Region; 14 from Metro Manila; 129 from the Ilocos Region; 96 from Cagayan Valley; 137 from Central Luzon; 127 from Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon); 60 from MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan); 98 from the Bicol Region ; 130 from Western Visayas; 126 from Central Visayas; 133 from Eastern Visayas; 64 from Zamboanga Peninsula; 74 from Northern Mindanao; 40 from Davao Region; 54 from SOCCSKSARGEN; 56 from Caraga Region; and 75 from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
According to the DILG, only the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon and SOCCSKSARGEN posted 100 percent GFH passing rates.
Meanwhile, only 245 LGUs nationwide did not pass the standards of financial transparency, the DILG said.
In Metro Manila, only the cities of Manila and Pasig did not pass the GFH standards. /muf
