THE average annual dealers’ prices of fertilizers increased in 2018 compared to their levels a year ago, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

In its latest report on “Updates on fertilizer prices,” PSA said price increases were observed for four fertilizer varieties, namely urea, complete, ammosul and ammophos.

Most of the regions exhibited positive average annual rates during 2018, it added.

PSA said the country’s average annual dealers’ price of urea was at P1,031.05 per sack, a 12.93-percent increase from the 2017 level. The increase for urea was seen in all regions, the agency added.

For the complete variety, annual price was pegged at P1,111.51 per sack, 1.38 percent higher from the 2017 figure. Increases on prices were noted in 14 regions, PSA said.

Likewise, the average annual dealers’ price of ammosul was P600.29 per sack in 2018, 7.15 percent higher year-on-year (yoy).

The country’s average dealer price of Ammophos was P936.18 per sack, up 3.18 percent yoy. Except for the Cordillera Administrative Region and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), higher prices were posted in all regions, PSA said.
