GROWTH of the Philippine economy slowed down to 6.2 percent last year from 6.7 percent in 2017 as higher prices of commodities affected consumer spending, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Thursday.
The full year growth fell below the government’s 6.5 to 6.9 percent growth target for the year.
For the quarter alone, growth settled at 6.1 percent, also down from the 6.5 percent in the same period of 2017.
