Cebu town mayor survives, husband dead in ambush

THE mayor of San Fernando, Cebu and two of her companions survived an ambush on Tuesday evening in Talisay City, according to police.

Mayor Lakambini Reluya’s husband, Recardo Jr., and two others, however, were killed in the incident that happened at 6:10 p.m. in Barangay Linao.

Aside from Reluya, her staff members Tolentin Jefer and Giovani Perez survived the shooting by still unidentified assailants.

Also killed in the ambush were Ricky Monterona and another staffmember.

Police said the six were boarding a white van when they were attacked.
