2,628 passengers stranded in Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines — As of 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, Tropical Depression Amang stranded a total of 2,628 passengers, 38 vessels, 222 rolling cargoes, and 8 motorbancas in Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and Southern Visayas due to Tropical Depression Amang.
The Philippine Coast Guard posted the figures at 8:23 p.m. on its Facebook timeline.
Following is the breakdown of those figures.
- Central Visayas: 65 passengers, 8 vessels, 15 rolling cargoes, and 8 motorbancas
- Northern Mindanao: 1,413 passengers, 15 vessels, and 39 rolling cargoes
- Eastern Visayas – 1,103 passengers, 9 vessels, and 146 rolling cargoes
- Southern Visayas – 47 passengers, 6 vessels, and 22 rolling cargoes
As of 7:00 p.m., Amang was spotted 135 km east of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte, according to a bulletin issued at 8:00 p.m. by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
It weas moving west-northwest at 30 kph, blowing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center with a gustiness reaching up to 60 kph. —With a report from Robert Dejon, Inquirer Visayas
